acupuncture - session 2

yesterday i was face down on the table and he focused on my lower back and calves/shin area again. one needle that he put directly into my calf was super painful. he asked if i felt it...UH, YEAH!! anyways, i found my second time around i was able to relax much quicker and i ended up taking a nap. then, i woke up and i got real fidgety again. that's when i start to feel like i need to jump up, take out all the needles and say i'm never coming back...fortunately/unfortunately i have another appointment thursday. again, i 'm in for anything...if this helps scott and i start our little family, then doctor...please poke away! next session - thursday.

daydreams...

not that i don't love my kitchen right now...but it's always fun to daydream. these pictures don't fully encompass my dream kitchen...bits and parts of each could potentially create THE one. i love the color of the flooring of this one but not for floors. possibly for a back splash of some sort. it would look so pretty against dark wood floors. i think i will forever love the white/vintage white look for cabinets...

i sometimes daydream about where we'd retire. i think i'm destined to be somewhere near the coast...scott would love to be where he could ski/telemark, golf, bike year round...i'm sure i could convince him to pick up surfing too...there just something so calming about the ocean. our alarm wakes me up to the crashing sounds of waves. i guess wherever we are together will be just fine. maybe after looking at some of these pictures he'll cave and live with me forever at the beach...
...A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true...

charlie dash - fearless.

charlie gets these panic attacks when we're getting ready to leave in the mornings. he's so needy in the morning and understandably so...who wants to stay at home ALL day by themselves with nothing to do but stare at cars driving by only hoping that it's their mom or dad's pulling into the driveway...? not charlie.

so when i pulled out of the driveway this morning, scott had opened the door to leave and charlie bolted over his foot straight for under my car. we sat there in the rain for five minutes trying to coax charlie out from underneath. he doesn't understand that one roll of a tire will end his precious little life. he just knows he wants to be with me and that's that.

i LOVE that our charlie is fearless in the way he loves us but any tips on training him to fear cars? help...

acupuncture - session 1

it was all a blur, really. i first walked in and the place smelled like chinese herbal medicine. it took me back to my childhood...i remember thinking, "hal-ah-bojee (grandpa) smelled like this." i also remember seeing either my parents or someone drinking this nasty drink as a kid. they would tell me that it was super good for you and again i remember thinking, "i'll NEVER drink that in my life!" it's funny because one of my life sayings is: NEVER SAY NEVER. the jokes on me i guess...especially if i do end up having to drink that gross drink.

anyways, back to my first session. my acupuncturist advised me to not let anyone dictate my stress on getting pregnant. he said my time will come when it's right and when i'm rea
dy. he said he would work on my ovulation and help prepare my eggs be perfect meaning not pre-mature and not too mature.

then i had my first session of needles being poked into me. it happened all so fast...the first ones were in my ears...then several along my forehead (maybe for my headaches/migraines?)...then several along my abdomen and then on my legs. he told me he had to be careful with the ones he used with me...he also smiled in a very father-like way and let me know that he used the needles he uses for his youngest patients that ranged in the years of 4-6. yayy me...not really. hahaa i'm hoping this will toughen me up but seriously, who likes needles being poked and prodded into you??

so my next session is tuesday. i will be going tw
ice a week for the next two weeks...scott and i are ready for the next several months...whatever that may be. we know only God knows best and will answer us and fill our hearts with a joy only He can fill. He resurrected his son...He can do anything!

* i n s p i r e d *

with a little encouragement (thanks mrs. carter), i decided to pick
up blogging again. i'm just going to delve right into it...

- i am a first grade teacher for the school year of 2009-2010
- i am an *auntie* of two beautiful half korean/half greek twins...olivia & lucas brentanos

- i am a home-owner!!
- i continue to struggle with headaches/migraines
- i am about to begin my journey with infertility

there are so many in-betweens and maybe i'll get there someday but for now, i'll start with my career. i am living my dreams and am a teacher to twenty-three amazing little people. there are days when i want to poke my eyes out and never return but i always end up coming back. our school has a high low-income demographic but they have a heart of gold. they work HARD and my hopes is that i can keep in touch with my students throughout the years and watch them graduate from college!! i have no idea what the next school year has in store for me but i know that this is my heart and i've loved every day of my job...(okay, that statement is probably false in a small way but for the most part, it's true)

my cousin june had two BEAUTIFUL (half greek/half korean) babies with probably the roughest pregnancy i have ever heard of. she had a rare case of OHSS but she was a trooper!! her and aleko are amazing people in my life and are loving parents to olivia and lucas brentanos. i can't wait to meet you little boogers soon!! i'm so sad that we live so far away but i hope that i will get to be a part of their lives every chance i get.

scott and i lived with his parents for nine months...WOWSER
S. but truly it was such a blessing in disguise. i couldn't have asked for better in-laws. living with them was a great experience...dad cooked for us almost every night and i truly believe God placed us there for a reason. that reason being i started my first year of teaching and He knew how to alleviate some of the many stresses i would encounter.

right around christmas time of 2009, we bought our first home together!! it was our gift to each other that year and it just worked out that we got to spend our first night on christmas eve to wake up to our beautiful home christmas morning. i can't believe it's been a little over three months since we've been there...the Lord has been so good to us in so many ways and our home is one of the many blessings we will forever be thankful for!!

my migraines/h
eadaches slow me down. i had some of my worst ones ever this past year. the first one happened the second day of school. i was bawling and hurled over the whole car ride home. i thought maybe, just maybe i had chosen the wrong profession...turns out, i didn't. both of the experiences were awful. all i wanted and really could do was lay in the dark and try not to throw up. i really need to get it checked out...i don't know why i haven't done so already. fear of the unknown perhaps?

and last...the newest chapter in my life. i am going to see my first acupuncturist. this is an attempt after going through two cycles of failed clomid and no signs of ovulation. dr. stewart referred me to another doctor who specializes in infertility. scott and i have been trying since last june and have had no success. we were totally okay with taking our time especially since i started my career in the fall and didn't spend too much time on why i wasn't getting pregnant. but now, having reached ten months with no sucess we are seeking and PRAYING fervently on God's grace once again. my first session is today at 4:30pm.

let's catch up

man oh man does time fly by! i just realized the last post was back in april and here we are in the middle of june...geez! well, let's do some catching up:

CHINA 2009: absolutley an amazing trip and gift from my in-laws! beijing, xian and shanghai were all so different and filled with rich history that i actually enjoyed. we ate well (besides the goose liver and duck dinner) and experienced some interesting cultural differences. beijing was HUGE...everything was just big. xian had the first dynasty and amazing history all built into the city. shanghai was very westernized and the city where we got lost! we packed in our trip with lot's of touristy outtings and were ready to come home! to say the least, i missed charlie EVERYDAY. not sure he missed us as much seeing that he had a blast with cousins obi and vader and his new best bud, hurley!

the month of may had some good times and some challenging ones. first, happy mother's day to my mom. she is a strong lady and can't imagine my life without her! we love you!!!

next, one of my closest and dearest friend sarah, delivered her precious baby boy on may 27th, three months early...he is heaven sent and is a little fighter! we continue to pray for the vogt's during this time...to follow their story, go to: http://jacksonvogt.com/.

sarah and i were to walk together for graduation but her water broke the day of...this is why graduation for me was SO bittersweet. but, i walked in honor of sarah and glad i did. my best friend and family was there to celebrate so we had a fabulous time...

we also welcomed the newest member, xavi
er raymond lions! we are so happy for ray and mandy (the proud parents) for this little bundle of joy...i love him already.

charlie sitting

i took this morning to type up a "how to" or better yet, some pointers on how to care for our little charlie...man oh man am i starting to feel bad for those that will be watching him...so many pointers that i want to mention without sounding like a crazy person! special thanks to bobby & the soukups while we are away on our two week vacation...
we also discovered charlie has "allergies"...whatever that really means. he basically sounds like he's wheezing and about to hack out a lung...but after all is said and done, his tail is still wagging, so i think he'll be okay...
* today's nap-alarm: charlie tooted his heart out! i'm talking, loud as in i thought i did it...but right after his big toot, he turned around in the direction of his little toosh and had that startled look like, "did
I do that?" LOL...tee heeee *
i've had so much fun spending the days with charlie. i'm definitely going to miss the little guy while we are away...
